Netanyahu drew parallels to Israel’s own history of bold rescue missions, referencing the 1976 Entebbe operation in which his brother Yoni Netanyahu was killed. He emphasized the shared principle of “no one left behind” between the two allies.“ This rescue operation reinforces the sacred principle: no one is left behind,” Netanyahu said. “As a nation that repeatedly carried out daring rescue operations, and as someone who was wounded in such a mission and lost a brother in the Entebbe rescue, Israelis and I know what a bold decision you took. Israeli officials reportedly provided key intelligence support to the U.S. operation amid escalating tensions in the region following recent U.S.-Israeli strikes on Iranian targets. The rescue comes at a time of heightened conflict between the United States, Israel, and Iran. President Trump has vowed to continue strong action against Iranian aggression, while Iranian state media claimed the rescue effort was unsuccessful.
